Entertainment and The Arts
Think about the things you like to do for entertainment. What hobbies do you have? How do you like to spend your time? We all have different passions in life. Some of us are fanatic about one or two things and others have a wide variety of interests. I have always fallen into the second category. Some have called me scattered because I am always looking for something new to try. Unfortunately this means that often I will start something and never finish (like the quilt I decided to make a few years ago even though I don’t really know how to sew) or I will start off gung-ho about a new sport or something and invest a lot of money in equipment, etc only to discover that I really don’t enjoy doing it that much…I liked the idea much more than the actual practice (like downhill skiing… I spent a lot of time on my rear end in the snow while small children whizzed by on their skis).
While I do not think that I will ever give up trying new things or starting new projects, I have committed to trying things out before plunging in. I hope that this section will give you some ideas on how you can enjoy the things you love but perhaps save you some money while doing it.
There are many options for entertainment. I’ve included posts on just a few ideas. What I want you to take away from this is that you can try different things without a large investment by renting equipment, taking lessons (community parks & rec programs and local colleges are good resources) and you don’t have to buy new equipment each season to have a good time.
