Museums, Galleries, Zoos, Aquariums, and other places

Did you know that many museums, aquariums, zoos, etc. offer free or reduced admission? Some offer free admission one day each month others offer reduced fees to members of certain groups like AAA or employer benefit programs. Another way to enjoy these places is by becoming a member. Generally, when you become a member, you can visit as many times each year as you like at no additional cost. Often when you become a member you will be provided with a number of guest passes too. Or you could volunteer.

If you have a love of animals, you might want to volunteer at the zoo. You will be able to give back to the community while doing something you love. I volunteer at a local museum. The museum appreciates the time that I give and in exchange I get to trade the time I spend “working” for rental time. It is a”win-win” situation. The museum is a huge benefit to the community and would probably not be able to operate at the level it does today if it didn’t have a large volunteer pool to call on.
