Walking, Running, and Day Hikes

Day hikes, walking, running are inexpensive forms of exercise and entertainment. The appropriate foot is the most important piece of equipment. Remember that it is recommended to replace your running shoes every 500 miles even if they still look good, the support gets worn out.

You will want to wear the appropriate clothing as well but it really doesn’t have to be expense or specialized. If you plan on hiking, make sure you are prepared for a variety of weather conditions and make sure that someone knows where you are going.

You might want to throw some food and water in a backpack to take with you. It is a good idea to go with a group if you have never been hiking before this way you can learn exactly what you should take with you and what you need to be prepared (each area has different concerns from bears to snakes, ticks and weather conditions).
